Purpose

This editorial policy explains how content on Calcy is researched, written, reviewed, and maintained. Our goal is to ensure that every calculator and accompanying article meets consistent quality standards and provides genuine value to visitors.

Content Standards

All content published on Calcy must meet the following criteria:

• Accuracy: Formulas, examples, and explanations must be mathematically correct and verifiable against established sources.
• Originality: All written content is created specifically for Calcy. We do not copy or paraphrase content from other calculator websites, blogs, or encyclopedias.
• Clarity: Explanations should be understandable to a general audience. Technical terms must be defined when first used.
• Honesty: We do not make exaggerated claims about accuracy, endorsements, or guarantees. Limitations of each calculator are stated clearly.
• Usefulness: Every page should help a visitor accomplish a real task or understand a real concept. We do not create pages solely to increase content volume.

Research and Sourcing

Calculator formulas are sourced from recognized standards and peer-reviewed publications. For health calculators, we reference guidelines from organizations such as the World Health Organization and national health institutes. For finance calculators, we use standard formulas found in established finance textbooks and regulatory publications. For each calculator, the formula and its variables are documented on the calculator page itself so visitors can verify the math independently.

Review Process

Before a calculator is published, the following steps are completed:

• The formula is verified against at least two independent sources or by manual calculation.
• Edge cases are tested, including zero, negative, and very large inputs where applicable.
• The accompanying content is reviewed for clarity, accuracy, and completeness.
• The page is checked on mobile, tablet, and desktop screen sizes for layout integrity.

Updates and Maintenance

Calculator content is reviewed periodically and updated when:

• The underlying formula or regulatory standard changes (for example, income tax slab revisions).
• User feedback reveals an error, ambiguity, or missing limitation.
• A related calculator is added or removed, affecting related links.

Each legal and policy page displays a "Last updated" date. Calculator pages do not display individual update dates, but the formula and methodology are documented transparently on each page.

External Data

The currency converter uses live exchange rates from a public API. The data source, update frequency, and last-updated timestamp are displayed on the currency converter page. If live data is temporarily unavailable, the converter clearly indicates that the last cached rate is being used. We do not present stale data as current.

Advertising and Content Independence

If advertising is displayed on Calcy, it is clearly labeled and kept separate from calculator content and navigation. Advertisers do not influence calculator formulas, educational content, or editorial decisions. Content is created to serve visitors, not to generate ad placements.
